It’s astonishing the things we put on our skin, which is actually our bodies’ largest organ. Besides baring the responsibility for maintaining your body’s core temperature, your skin also must keep tabs on the body’s balance of fluids and protect the vulnerable internal organs from external toxins.
Why Use Natural Skin Care Products?
There are lots of advantages to using natural skin care products, such as organic makeup. These products are better for your skin, kinder to the world, and healthier in general. Here’s why using natural skin care products makes so much sense:
- Many skin care products contain harmful toxins that have been linked to cancer, hormone imbalances, joint pain, headaches, allergies, and a host of other ailments. These chemicals can even cause depression, and ironically, skin problems.
- Natural skin care products, especially those that are organic, are much kinder to the planet than traditional beauty products. Synthetic skin care products are often produced in ways that harm the earth. Organic makeup and other natural skincare products are earth-friendly.
- Another important advantage of natural skin care products is that they are safer for children. While it’s not a good idea to ingest any product that is meant for external use only, natural skincare products generally contain fewer toxic chemicals.
Harmful Chemicals in Synthetic Skincare Products
There are lots of toxic chemicals present in many synthetic skincare and haircare products. As they become more concerned about the environment, consumers are also beginning to wonder about the products they use on their bodies. Here are a few of the harmful ingredients in many synthetic skincare products:
- Synthetic Fragrance: When you read a label for a synthetic skincare product, one of the few non-technical words on the ingredients list is usually “fragrance.” That is because the fragrance used is rarely specified and can be any of up to 4,000 different toxic ingredients. Many natural skincare products use essential oils instead of harmful synthetic fragrances.
- Artificial Colors: Frequently listed as ‘FD&C’colors, these artificial pigments are on the ingredients list for nearly each synthetic skincare product. They can irritate skin, cause cancer, and affect the body in other harmful ways. Natural skincare products and organic makeup don’t use this type of pigment.
- MEA, DEA, and TEA: Also known as Monoethanolamine, Diethanolamine, and Triethanolamine, these ingredients can disrupt hormone balance and cause cancer. They are in nearly everything produced by the synthetic skincare companies, including shampoo, bubble bath, and facial cleansers.
- Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate: You are probably familiar with these ingredients as well. Used as foaming agents and detergents, you might have seen them listed on your shampoo, conditioner, and toothpaste. These ingredients can cause skin irritation, depression, and even cancer.
Performance of Organic Makeup and Other Natural Skincare Products
Organic makeup isn’t only better for the environment, your skin, and your body; it also meets high standards for performance. It’s important that even though you wear organic makeup, you can anticipate it to perform as well as traditional synthetic products.
Natural skincare products perform as well or better than synthetic skincare products. They are far less apt to irritate skin, and they do no come with harmful side effects and perilous long-term physical risks.
The Bigger Picture
Your choice of beauty products is about more than what you see in the mirror; it’s also about your respect for our natural environment. In current years, the focus on earth-friendly beauty has prompted many consumers to switch to natural skincare products and organic makeup.
Many synthetic skincare products are made up of harmful chemicals and preservatives that pollute our environment. These chemicals affect our natural world and also impact our physical health. Making the switch to natural skincare products is the right choice, both for our bodies and our planet.Benefits of Natural Skin Care

The young rushing to grow old and the old doing all that it takes to stay young is one of the most observable ironies in life. Well, blame the latter to vanity, or, perhaps, lets be thankful for it. So that this time, it would be vanitys chance to strike as staying young is just a simple routine that would spell a large difference. And to boost this regimen, some experts share relevant tips for a younger-looking skin.
Clean your face properly
Remove all traces of cosmetics on your face by using cotton balls and moisturizing cream. Using lukewarm water that also opens pores for deeper cleansing and a soap-free, non-comedogenic, and mild cleanser, gently rotate your middle and pinky fingers upwards avoiding hard rubbing that could damage your skin. Make sure hands are clean to prevent spreading bacteria and dirt which can worsen acne and other skin problems.
Massage face wash on skin for about 60 seconds to wipe away dirt, bacteria, pollutants, and product residue. Rinse at least three times to remove residues that’ll clog our pores. After patting skin dry, use an alcohol-free toner that preferably contains glycolic acid or alpha hydroxy acid. These acids can educe the size of you pores and can give you instant results.
Use soap on select areas
To maintain the softness of skin, soap should be applied only on choose areas–your face, underarms, feet, groin, and buttocks. These are the areas that need the cleansing effects of soap so other areas wont be unnecessarily stripped off of its natural skin oils. Some experts say that rinsing other areas with water alone is enough to make them clean.
Moisturize while you wash
Moisturizing after cleansing is totally necessary. Washing the face can aggressively remove the natural oil of the skin. Moisturizing after cleansing will replenish the necessary oil that was lost. Use products which contain the leas amount of harsh additives. Pure Vitamin E and aloe vera oil can be applied too for intensive moisture treatment. Just open a capsule and apply directly on skin for that intense moisture you need.
Let moisturizer be absorbed well
Set moisturizer for at least three minutes before applying makeup. This will let your moisturizer to be totally absorbed and will help our makeup to last all day.
Clean a damp face, not a dry one
Use cleansers on damp skin. According to Dr. Mary Lupo, a professor of dermatology at Tulane University, cleansers are more likely to be irritating if applied on dry skin. This will also lock in moisture.
Splash face with cold water before a makeup
This helps shrink pores and is a trick used by makeup artists to help makeup glide on seamlessly. Moreover, smaller pores give little space for pollutants and cosmetics to reside, hence, a more radiant skin.
Apply products properly
The effectiveness of products depends chiefly upon its penetration unto the skin. For better absorption of ingredients, follow this sequence: toner, serum or treatment products like retinoids, moisturizer, and sunscreen. This sequence will keep heavy formulas from preventing lighter ones to be absorbed well.
Move your sun shade
Change the placement of your sunshade in your car. Move this to your left to block UV rays while you are driving. If not, the left side of your face would tend to look older than the other side because of the sun damage. Nevertheless, place a shade wherever you’re seated in your automobile. It does not only protect your skin, but also that of your fellows.
Experts have done their share, so now its time to do yours.

In your world everything seems foggy, and your brain feels like mush. You walk around in a stupor - like you have a hangover. Only you did not just have a whole night of partying, did you No, your night was horrible, because you spent most of it battling insomnia, and hoping that you can at least get a couple of hours of rest. When you wake up, your mind just does not feel right. And, your work and other responsibilities might be suffering as a result.
When it comes to a good health regimen, people often talk about eating right and exercising several times per week. But what they overlook is a good night of rest. In fact, they tend to mock this concept by doing everything they have the ability to to avoid sleeping the night through. It seems that adults just do not take sleep seriously enough, and it is affecting their health.
A good night of sleep is the bodys natural way to refresh and rejuvenate itself. All of the bodys major organs are able to be at complete rest in order for them to be prepared for them to be on the go the next day, all day long. The more you fight the natural urge to sleep and not give your body that opportunity to be at ease, the more you’ll eventually take a toll on your body.
It is nothing new for people to overlook medical advice. Despite many reports that have shown the effects of insomnia on the mind and body, people tend to put their dozens of responsibilities before their own health. But nowadays, with prescription and over the counter sleep aids being so costly, and people being inundated with sleep remedies left and right on television, we’re seeing that it really is the ideal thing to just do it ourselves. We need to overcome our night time restlessness in order to feel better overall. But, before we discuss what our options are we should also say insomnia affects your overall brain power as well.
Your brain gets exhausted just as much as the rest of your body, if not more. This is the control center of the body, signaling all sorts of things including memory, impulse and of course, memory. If any of these things becomes affected by many nights of restlessness, then you are seriously putting yourself in jeopardy.
Consider all of the tasks you do that involve attention. You would not get behind the wheel of a vehicle if your brain were impaired with alcohol. But, a lack of sleep produces similar if not more intense results, because the mind cannot pay attention and wants to shut off. Or wouldnt you hate it if you missed a really important event that your child is involved with, because you simply forgot about it You might feel overworked, and as a result you may not be getting proper rest, so it just slips your mind. It is one thing to make a mistake here and there, but getting a good night of sleep will help you increase your mental abilities and prevent you from making constant errors at work, school or home. Your overall performance would improve, and this would boost your confidence level quite a bit.
Now back to those other options…
A good place to begin would be doing something that puts you in a good mood. You might not think that you can combat insomnia with a good motion picture or book, but engaging in these activities in the evening can help settle your nerves to make you sleepy at night. But your selection of book or motion picture cannot be one that makes you jumpy, of course. It would have to be an uplifting story that has a happy ending. Then you can go to sleep in peace.
Another great method of relaxation is aromatherapy. Some people are swift to write this off because the feel that there’s nothing a scent can do for them, or that it will overwhelm them if it is too strong. Yet, if used correctly, studies show that this is one of the most effective methods out there, because it is natural and is non-invasive to the body. All it does is trigger something within the nerve center for the brain to relax because it has a calm feeling. The more familiar or pleasant the smell is to the person, the faster they’ll fall asleep.

There are so many things in your life that can cause you stress. Once you begin letting this stress consume you, it will continue to pile up until you feel like you cant even see straight. The important thing is to remember to remain calm and try to take all of lifes challenges in stride. Deal with each situation individually and then put it aside. You will feel more victorious if you are able to battle things head on, and not become nervous over lifes little problems.
Before moving on lets get on the same page and define what exactly is stress/anxiety.
Stress is the bodys response to any demand or pressure. These demands are called stressors. Stressors include major life events, such as a divorce or the birth of a child. They also include chronic strains that last over a period of time, such as living on unemployment. And stressors include daily or occasional strains, like taking care of a sick child. In a nutshell, stress can mean different things to different people. Traffic jams, deadlines, eating on the run, bills to pay, job changes, endless chores and errands, and demands, demands, demands.
Whatever the stressor is, it requires the body to make physical and chemical adjustments in order to maintain the necessary physiological balance for survival. A racing heart, a burst of energy, insomnia and muscle tension are the bodys physical responses to demands.
The brain is such a funny thing. It is the epicenter of pretty much everything, controlling body functions, movements and of course emotions and personality. But sometimes there can be glitches, and the overworked brain might malfunction from time to time. When emotions are not kept into check, they have the ability to become magnified, and may cause problems. Nervousness and worry are two of those elements that can be a problem if they are not carefully monitored. What happens as a result is that they turn into full blown anxiety.
When the problems become bigger, it does get increasingly difficult to handle. But, if you do not want to feel the effects of full blown anxiety, keep your composure and work through all that bothers you. If you give in to the nervous feelings, then not only will you feel anxiety, but eventually you could suffer from other things like depression. It is essential to stay focused and to keep your cool. Nipping the problems in the bud before they get out of hand is key to keeping anxiety at bay.
